Practice management

Pilot

A Pilot connection for LEAP matter intelligence.

Assess how agreed LEAP matter context can inform MatterLayer prompts and reviews during a controlled Pilot.

Pilot status: This page describes MatterLayer's evaluation scope. It does not mean LEAP endorses MatterLayer, and it does not imply a vendor partnership.

Pilot brief

A bounded operating scope

01

Buyer problem: status does not explain the matter

A practice-management status can be accurate yet insufficient for deciding whether work, billing or client follow-up needs attention. The LEAP Pilot asks whether selected matter context can help triage a recognised operating question without replacing the knowledge of the lawyer, finance team or matter owner.

02

Pilot operating pattern

Define the matter group, the review question and the LEAP context required to support it. MatterLayer can assemble a reviewable prompt, after which the responsible person inspects the source and surrounding circumstances. Any follow-up remains part of the firm’s controlled workflow.

03

Boundaries and limitations

This page makes no promise about specific fields, write capabilities or connection availability. Implementation must confirm what the firm can authorise and what the selected records mean locally. Incomplete data can produce misleading prompts, and LEAP is not described as endorsing or partnering with MatterLayer.

04

Implementation discussion

Agree definitions with the people who maintain and use the relevant records. Test normal, paused and exceptional matters; verify permissions; and document how a mismatch is corrected. Start read-oriented and narrow unless an authorised, reviewed action path is separately established for the Pilot.

05

Measured Pilot outcome

Assess whether reviewers can identify and explain the matters selected for attention with less reconciliation and clearer ownership. Record what the Pilot misses as well as what it surfaces. Do not infer recovered revenue, faster delivery or better legal work from usage alone.

Intended data scope

Agreed matter details, matter status and work context required for the approved use case, limited by authorised availability.

Workflows to evaluate

  • Matter status review
  • Operational triage
  • Revenue-leakage investigation

Controls to agree

  • Agreed use-case scope
  • Reviewable prompts
  • No implied vendor partnership

LEAP / Pilot

Define the question before connecting the system.

Review implementation steps and security boundaries, then bring a bounded use case to the MatterLayer team.
