By accessing or using MatterLayer ('the Service'), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a law firm or other organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
MatterLayer is a practice intelligence platform that connects to your practice management system and provides AI-powered analysis, risk scoring, billing intelligence, document review, and workflow automation. The Service is designed to assist legal professionals — it does not provide legal advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal judgement.
During the beta period, the Service is provided on an early-access basis. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes. Beta participants receive priority access and preferential pricing upon general availability.
You retain all ownership rights to your data. MatterLayer processes your data solely to provide the Service. We do not use your data to train AI models for other customers. You can export or delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
MatterLayer connects to your practice management system through authorised API integrations. You are responsible for maintaining valid API credentials and ensuring your PMS subscription remains active. MatterLayer is not responsible for data accuracy issues originating from your PMS.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, use the Service to process data for third parties without authorisation, or interfere with the Service's operation or security.
MatterLayer and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by MatterLayer Pty Ltd and are protected by Australian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your data remains your intellectual property at all times.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, MatterLayer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Victoria. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
