Practice management

Pilot

A Pilot connection for Clio matter context.

Evaluate how selected Clio matter, activity and workflow signals can support MatterLayer intelligence in a controlled Pilot.

Pilot status: This page describes MatterLayer's evaluation scope. It does not mean Clio endorses MatterLayer, and it does not imply a vendor partnership.

Pilot brief

A bounded operating scope

01

Buyer problem: practice data lacks the wider story

A Clio matter can hold important operating context while documents, relationship activity and finance conversations sit elsewhere. The Pilot asks whether selected practice-management signals help a reviewer find the matters that deserve a closer look without presenting the source record as a complete picture.

02

Pilot operating pattern

Begin with one matter cohort and one recurring question. MatterLayer can present agreed Clio context beside the prompt, then direct an authorised reviewer back to the evidence needed to decide whether follow-up is warranted. The practice-management record remains authoritative for its own data.

03

Boundaries and limitations

No write-back, field availability or connection method is assumed by this page. Those details must be validated during implementation. Missing, stale or differently configured records can change the meaning of a signal, and Clio does not endorse MatterLayer or participate in this Pilot claim.

04

Implementation discussion

Map the selected fields to the firm’s actual definitions, confirm access by role and test representative exceptions before live use. Agree how a rejected prompt, a data mismatch and a required escalation are recorded. Expand only after the team can explain the complete review path.

05

Measured Pilot outcome

Evaluate whether reviewers reach relevant matter context sooner, reconcile fewer separate lists and assign follow-up more clearly. Also record false prompts and missing information. The Pilot does not establish a customer result, legal outcome or financial improvement merely because a connection or screen operates.

Intended data scope

Selected matter identifiers, status, activity and workflow context needed for the agreed Pilot use case, subject to authorised availability.

Workflows to evaluate

  • Matter context review
  • Workflow follow-up
  • Commercial signal investigation

Controls to agree

  • Scoped data access
  • Human review before action
  • Pilot-specific operating boundary
